The vine :
Located in Rouffach, the Clos Saint Landelin, fully owned by the Muré family, covers an area of 12 hectares (29 acres). It marks the southern end of the Grand Cru Vorbourg. Located at the exit of the valley, it is exposed to the south and benefits from a good amount of sunshine until late in the afternoon. The north and south-west winds ensure that the vines remain healthy until harvest time.
In order to make the late harvest, the grapes are sorted: the grapes are kept over-ripe, with passerillage or presence of noble rot (Botrytis Cinerea). These grapes are concentrated in aromas but also in sugar. They give powerful wines, rich in aromas.
Average agre of vines : 40 years
Foie gras or pressed cheeses are a perfect match for the fruity Pinot Gris Lutzeltal.
